Until a few years ago, Christmas was synonymous with watching billiards on TV.

Billiards and movies get along well. The proof is that more than 60 films have been made with billiards as protagonists, as the Billiards Movies blog collects. Some of these films have even become great cinematic classics, like The Hustler or The Color of Money.

Unfortunately, in our kiosks there are no Spanish magazines for billiard lovers. But you can find good billiard publications in other countries, especially in the United States, and subscribe to them to receive them at home.

Since the competition was established in 1992, 38 young players have been proclaimed world Junior Pool champions. Winning this prestigious 9-Ball tournament and winning the title backed by the World Pool-Billiard Association is a big leap for those billiard players who dream of being professionals of this sport. It is a great showcase for visibility and sponsors, and a good indicator of the future of Pool.

I am fascinated to see how well some kids play billiard. No more than 8 years old, but they run shots as if they were 25. From very young they have grown up with the sport and now billiard is already part of their short lives. They were born to play billiards. Innate talent, training and practice make them great billiard players in small bodies.

When I started to play pool back in 2000, watching pool videos was as complicated as rare. Today, thanks to the Internet and especially YouTube, it’s routine. If you love pool, you can spend hours and hours in front of the computer watching videos of games, tournaments or impossible shots of Ronnie and company.
